My current dissertation is on the BBC adaptations of M R James' ghost stories between 1968-1975, and my BA dissertation was on folk horror cinema and posthumanism, which I hope demonstrates my keen interest in film and television production.During my time at the University of Exeter – where I studied a BA in English Literature – I was an avid member of the Comedy Society, in which I held two committee positions, including the Head of Stand-Up. As well as stand-up, I co-wrote and directed the sketch show that was a great success, and I have continued to write scripts, as well as perform my own material.I have worked on several short films at university, and last summer I worked on a short documentary film for a museum. My role was predominantly as a production designer and researcher, but I also worked as an assistant cinematographer and boom operator. I would love to pursue roles in production design. But, as I have little comparative experience, I am keen for any job in film and television production including making the teas and coffees, as I am eager to learn as much as I can about the industry and the varied opportunities available.
