Archive Producer with over 13 years experience working on Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and Loose Women, clearing TV programmes, films, documentaries, newspaper front pages, magazine shoots, paparazzi photos, podcasts, music, jingles, idents, logos, Instagrams, TikToks, ancient advertisements, or the latest viral UGC.
I've worked with large agencies like ITN, Getty, AP, Alamy, PA, Reuters and Shutterstock, and smaller names like SWNS, ArenaPal, Mary Evans, Science Photo Library and Bridgeman Images. I’ve worked on topical crime and human interest stories like Lucy Letby, the Southport attacks, and multiple interviews with Esther Ghey, mother of Brianna Ghey, utilising content from police press offices, UGC, and small regional agencies. I've also cleared UGC and viral videos from social media accounts and members of the public, and advised our reporters and producers on fair dealing under news access for the purposes of reporting current events.
I’ve led on several years of specialist strands like Black History Month for subjects as varied as the Bristol Bus Boycott to the first black Oscar winner, clearing material from the Oscars Academy to the Bristol Museum, as well as the JFK and MLK Jr archives. I’ve also worked on Pride Month items, clearing material from magazines like Attitude, ground-breaking performances with the BRIT Awards, and even directly with gay rights pioneers like Peter Tatchell.
I’ve also worked on:
• Sports items: clearing archival sport footage with Sky Sports, DAZN, TNT (formerly BT Sport), ITV Sport, IMG, and the Olympics for guests like Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Sir Geoff Hurst, Torvill and Dean, Wayne Rooney, Eddie the Eagle, and Chris Kamara.
• Guests who require lots of tricky BBC archive like actors David Jason or John Cleese, or former ITV presenters like Chris Tarrant and Michaela Strachan. I’ve even used the wonderful Bob Monkhouse archive to obtain the first TV appearance of Lenny Henry.
• Awards season: organising access to the Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammys and BAFTAs,
• Contacting the Met Police’s press team for CCTV and mugshot handouts for our crime reporting.
• Extensive archive for celeb events like Beckham’s 50 birthday, Madonna’s 60th, and our own GMB/Lorraine milestones.
• Massive Royal items like the Queen’s platinum jubilee and funeral, Royal weddings, interviews with Meghan Markle’s father, and the King’s coronation.
• Three interviews with Donald Trump, as nominee and President, each spun out into three feature length documentaries using archive from his entire career from ITN, Getty, AP, Alamy, PA, Reuters and Shutterstock.
• Obituaries for major figures like the last two Popes, Nelson Mandela, George Michael, David Bowie and Bruce Forsyth.
All of this was achieved with a tiny daily budget for archive, and often with a 24 hour turnaround.
