Hello there, I hope you're doing well. I've been 1st Assistant Director for over 10 years, with an extensive background in the production department which gives me a great base to act as an assistant director. I started my career in the theatre, acting in several shows and I was part of the now-defunct repertory company - Cia. Das Indias by Zé ; Adão Barbosa, where as well as being an actress I was Executive Producer and Assistant Director, two passions that spoke much louder than the acting profession. In 1996 I moved to Rio de Janeiro and studied theatre at CAL - Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras and later at the University of Film &TV. This was a turning point, as I realised that the thing I loved most was telling stories through images. I became very involved as an intern on the Uni and then worked on several short films produced by the students, which allowed me to get to know various departments.These experiences allowed me to start to work on TV commercials even before I finished my degree and I never stopped since then, working in the main capitals of Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Porto Alegre.Thanks to my common sense, organisation, logistics and planning, problem-solving, and decision-making, I navigate very successfully between the worlds of production and assistant directing, with assistant directing being my main focus. Since January 2021 I've been based in London/UK, where I've worked as a 1st AD, Fixer/Production Service, Production Coordinator, but always focusing on Assistant Director. Read Less
