I'm a freelance Producer (Unscripted) working across Production and Development. I'm also a qualified Wellbeing Facilitator, available for Welfare Producer roles...  I'm based in Northern Ireland but can be flexible re. hybrid working and shooting on location across the UK and abroad.  In recent months I've been freelancing as a Development Producer with Big Mountain Productions, working on funded development for a prominent UK broadcaster. In March 2024 I partnered with Waddell Media and won a commission for a documentary for BBCNI's True North strand, which will also be shown on BBC One this summer as part of 'Our Lives'. I'm PDing the doc and self-shooting elements on my Sony FX30 rig.

I originally trained in post-production at Scottish Television (STV), working across Factual Entertainment (eg. Ready, Steady Cook... Wheel of Fortune... Win Lose or Draw... The Chart Show, etc) and Drama output (eg. Taggart, McCallum and High Road).  I worked as an Edit Assistant on a number of landmark docs at STV, before moving into News & Current Affairs, working as an ENG Editor on Scotsport (Champions League coverage), Scotland Today and GMTV.

After completing a Masters in Journalism I spent time in the States working for National Geographic (Traveler in DC and Adventure Magazine in NYC).  I was a researcher and junior sub-editor for the print versions and wrote features for NGS Online.  On returning home to the UK, I've continued to write travel features for national publications and to date I've co-authored eleven guidebooks for Rough Guide, Dorling Kindersley and Footprint.

Back in Belfast I joined BBCNI as a Senior Producer, working across Outside Broadcasts.  I headed up a team of Researchers and APs, generating and delivering content from around NI for Online, Radio and Television.  I was also involved in large scale OBs for Radio One's Big Weekend, Proms in the Park, Children in Need and Comic Relief.

I stepped back from frontline broadcasting to raise my young family whilst continuing to write and lecture at the Northern Ireland Film & Television School.  I was the p/t Course Director for eight years, delivering units in Producing, Directing and Documentary Filmmaking.

In 2023 I was selected as a WFTV Mentee and gained a place on TRC's Series Producer Programme.  Now that the kids are older, I decided to return to production full-time...
