As a multi-award-winning journalist and filmmaker, originality and innovation are at the very heart of my work. I have provided some of the most-watched video content for the BBC website and social media accounts where my exclusive films are still seen by a global audience of millions. I find, produce, film and edit all my own original stories about people and communities who feel they aren’t heard by, or don’t get a voice in, the mainstream media. Many of my films have gone viral, topping tens of millions of hits worldwide on the BBC’s own website and its various social media accounts. My work is also frequently screened on flagship television programmes such as The One Show and BBC Breakfast. I make use of a wide variety of styles and formats in my video journalism, from long-form investigations to snappy, ‘of the moment’ explainers and reports that might require quicker turnarounds both in the newsroom and out in the field. I eschew the traditional filming and editing techniques to make dynamic pieces that are highly engaging, colourful, fast-moving and unique. I truly enjoy continuing to push the boundaries of what is possible in both the digital and TV news environment, challenging traditional broadcasters to think again about the stories they tell, and how they tell them.
