I have a huge passion for the documentary film, radio and TV industry and have recently graduated with a First Class Honours in Broadcast Production (MA) from the Institute of Art, Design and Technology. After completing my masters in Broadcast Production at IADT, I learned an enormous amount about the media broadcasting industry as a whole and also had the opportunity to create my own documentary shorts. The masters was hugely beneficial in outlining the requirements for each and every stage of production from pitching to delivery. I found this learning experience to be riveting, challenging and rewarding. Additionally, I worked as a crew member alongside my other colleagues as an audio operator, a camera assistant and an interviewer, this allowed me to explore numerous important roles within a creative production team.On a personal level, I am enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate with a strong sense of initiative. I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in different types of content and connecting with various characters from diverse backgrounds. From working within this industry, I have realised that my strongest skill is my disarming technique of communication and my natural ability to gain participants' trust and sincerity. This quality is highly beneficial, especially for research and interview purposes. Furthermore, I am very eager to demonstrate my creative storytelling skills and to learn as much as I can from those around me.On a practical level, my wide range of work experience demonstrates my varied assortment of efficient skills within production. I have served as a production/studio assistant in both TV and radio settings, allowing me to have a thorough knowledge of both industries. In regards to my TV experience, I have gained valuable skills required for both studio and gallery work as well as an understanding of the effectiveness of initiative, patience and the significance of asking for help. In addition, I have a sound knowledge of many editing software such as Premiere Pro, Da Vinci, Fairlight and Audacity.Momentarily, I am working as a freelance production assistant and autocue operator in Virgin Media Television as well as a part-time Hostess in The Ivy. Despite both roles existing within separate industries, they have taught me the importance of time management, schedule organisation, clear communication and detailed administration work. The next step for me involves taking all that I have learned and experienced and applying for a new role within broadcasting.
