In connection to creativity, I am also a sensitive girl who wants an opportunity to show the world the way I see it, and I am persistent to share that view with others.
Recently graduating University of Kent, I am extremely proud of myself for achieving First Class Honours in Film. That is especially important to me, as I did not except that result when I first started University during the pandemic in 2020. However, learning about different areas of film and TV – something I am particularly enthusiastic about – enabled me to achieve such results.
Nonetheless, my initial interest in film first began when I was 16 and started volunteering for Camerimage Festival, held in my hometown in Poland. I volunteered for the festival 3 times, and that allowed me to meet extraordinary people from the industry, alluring me to learn more about film. Being 16 and in a close proximity to people who worked for Oscar-nominated productions was something that felt like a dream and I knew that I had to pursue this route.
Being a recent graduate, I do not have a specific path I want to follow - I want to explore different opportunities that the industry offers. My specific interests are definitely editing and videography, however I am also very keen to work on set and learn new things from people who are more familiar with the industry. I worked on student projects before – I was a sound recordist, editor, camera operator, director, however, what I really enjoyed was being a producer and casting director. Organising vital materials needed for shoots and being in close contact with actors & other people, was the most exciting part for me, which I did not initially expect. Hence why I am happy to take over any role and do my best.
Throughout the years, I have also acquired strong communication skills through jobs I have undertaken – I worked part-time in a student bar, where I constantly interacted with the customers. Prior to that, I worked in McDonald’s as a customer care assistant, where I had a lot of responsibilities in terms of dealing with customers, including uncomfortable situations. Ultimately, this made me more communicative and confident when working with people, which applies to both customers and work colleagues.
Overall, I would love to apply the knowledge I acquired at University, as well as develop new skills and learn more about the industry I would love to be a part of.
