Rob Bagshaw combined British training with international production experience to become one of the leading creatives in Unscripted & Live Events. He has worked for US and UK networks, major cable, streamers and international platforms having produced 1,800+ broadcast hours with UK daytime formats The Big Breakfast and This Morning, US docu-series Workout, Breaking Pointe and So Cosmo, multi-cam location series Paradise Hotel and Castaway, game shows Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? and The Crystal Maze, late night talk with UK hosts and award-winning global competition formats Top Chef Masters, Project Runway All Stars and RuPaul’s Drag Race.Rob was Executive Vice President for Kids & Family Group, ViacomCBS. At Nickelodeon, he built a new division for unscripted content across all platforms. Award winning highlights inc. Spongebob Squarepants and JoJo Siwa specials, new formats The Substitute, Top Elf and Unleashed and marquee events such as Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, TIME Kid of the Year (Emmy nom), The Spongebob Musical Live On Stage! and a CBS collaboration to ‘Nickify’ live coverage of an NFL Wild Card Game resulting in 2 Emmy Awards, the network’s largest audience in 4yrs and original content for NFL Super Bowl LV. During his tenure, Rob co-chaired a sub-committee of Viacom’s Diversity & Inclusivity Council to establish company-wide D&I policies on creative partnerships.As a freelance producer, Rob has handled bomb threats, world records, elections, funerals, streakers, slime and drunks all on live network television. He has worked with high profile names such as the UN Secretary General, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Prime Ministers, Royals, Superheroes, 007, Harry Potter, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Roy Disney, Oprah Winfrey, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Dame Judi Dench, Madonna, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld, Baby Shark, Paw Patrol, the Kardashians, The Muppets and The Simpsons.A prolific format producer, he co-created/ supervised FOX’s international hit Paradise Hotel (16 Denmark, 15 Sweden, 14 Norway seasons + more) and SyFy’s critically acclaimed Jim Henson’s Creature Shop Challenge. He created formats Inside the United Nations with Michael Douglas, Charlize Theron’s Glam Squad, General Motors’ Motor City Masters (TruTV) and Priyanka Chopra’s If I Could Tell You Just One Thing (YouTube) for International Women’s Day. Other formats inc. America’s Worst Driver (NBC), World’s Worst… (various), Challenge America with Erin Brockovich (ABC), Stars in Danger: The High Dive (FOX), The Mentor (Bloomberg) and America’s Most Identical Twins (Discovery).At the BBC, Rob co-created/ oversaw reality social experiment Castaway, airing daily live from a remote New Zealand island in an 80 episode, 12 week run on primetime BBC1, BBC3 and BBC Digital. As in-house Production Executive for Australia’s Nine Network, his slate included creating Australia’s Favorite Couple, Australia Unites (8hr live telethon), Michael Jackson: King of Pop (2hr live tribute) and live coverage following host Hugh Jackman backstage during the 81st Annual Academy Awards. For BBC Worldwide, he and Oprah Winfrey co-created Lovetown USA for OWN, winner of Mipcom’s Best Factual Entertainment format.Rob was creator/ showrunner for all 7 seasons of Project Runway All Stars (Lifetime), nominated for Emmy Awards and Best Reality Show, BANFF World Media Festival. He went on to create/ showrun So Cosmo (E!), a docuseries inside the largest female media brand Cosmopolitan, returning to E! to showrun late night comedy format The Funny Dance Show. Rob was also showrunner of season 10’s finale and reunion of RuPaul’s Drag Race (VH1), achieving an Emmy Award for Best Reality Competition and becoming Consulting Producer for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars (VH1).Previous staff positions inc. SVP, Bunim Murray Productions (East Coast head) and Head of International Programming, Mentorn (UK). He has consulted for Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories, CBS, FOX, Fox Alternative Studios, Endemol Shine, Two Four, Shed Media, Mother Media Group, Leopard USA and ITV Studios.Rob is a guest lecturer at UCLA, a member of AMPAS, PGA and BAFTA and served on BAFTA’s US Board of Directors.
