Whilst working on the documentary feature ‘Britain’s Big Cat Mystery’, I was required to source most of the interviewees and onscreen talent; this included two of my biggest accolades as a newcomer to the profession, securing an interview with Kelci “Saff” Saffery, from Netflix’s record-breaking smash-hit documentary series ‘Tiger King’, and also securing an interview with Professor Todd Disotell, from 'Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty' on Spike TV, 'MonsterQuest' and ‘Ancient Aliens’ on the History Channel and 'Joe Rogan Questions Everything' on SyFy. These shoots were overseas, in different regions of the United States, (I am based in Britain), during global lockdown, and I co-ordinated both; sourcing camera crews local to each interviewee on a shoestring budget, and in respect of time zones.When working on the production of ‘Cat Hunters: The Search for the Exmoor Beast’, scheduling issues forced a crucial cast member to drop out at the last minute, meaning I had to find another genetic scientist with a background in TV in less than 24 hours. In extremely short notice I was able to secure an excellent alternative in Professor Turi King, who may be best known for her role in BBC’s ‘DNA Family Secrets’, but was also famed for carrying out the genetic science responsible for identifying the lost remains of King Richard III. This was achieved on an extremely limited budget and highlights my resourcefulness in the face of heavy time and financial constraints.Prior to starting in media and film production under the tutelage of Matt Everett of Dragonfly Films and Doug Hajicek of MonsterQuest fame, I have worked for almost two decades in the field of mental health nursing, specialising in psychiatric intensive care and older age psychiatry. Also providing specialist training within the NHS and nursing colleges around the world, lecturing on subjects including; assessment of mental state and associated risks, conflict resolution, and the management of violence and aggression in hospital settings.Previously, I have volunteered and worked in a number of other industries, including; computer/electronic repair, retail, veterinary care, horticulture, construction and also supporting the infrastructure of touring wrestling promotions in the UK.Author of several essays and articles, and also a best-selling book.
