I have over 20 years of tv experience having got my grounding at the BBC which gave me a huge amount of experience directing, producing and also editing every show I worked on. Since leaving in 2011 from being a staff AP (in BBC terms = director) I worked continuously between broadcast and exciting corporate contracts where I am the regular go-to person for BP and The Economist, The Mediae Company and Blue Peter. I have extensive credits working across a variety of genres e.g factual, ents, obs docs, children's and reality. I have filmed all over the world, from Mumbai and Brazil to the Sahara and the Arctic working with high profile presenters such as David Tenant, 'Blue Peter' presenters, Phil and Kirsty, Harriet Walter etc and non-experienced contributors. I work closely with producer and directors researching and developing stories, setting up shoots, writing scripts, casting contributors and shooting on locations both in the UK and abroad. I work as AP and casting AP on jobs that I find interesting; ambitious projects that require me to negotiate access to different locations, which require me to navigate challenging situations and where I have to think on my feet at short notice. I am very persuasive in gaining access and trust and experienced in working on sensitive subjects. I can confidently shoot 2nd camera and am constantly refreshing my shooting skills. I am extremely organised – working in presentation I produced 4 hours of programming a week including cooking segments: managing daily schedules, writing scripts, edit producing, managing design and studios at the same time. So I am very capable of being thrown in at the deep end and thinking on my feet such as having to change scripts as stories and events unfold such as sinking snowmobiles in the Arctic or runaway camels in the Sahara.
