Zayn Ahmed is a Bristol-based TV Researcher with experience across factual, development and production, currently working on BBC Gardeners’ World. They bring strong editorial judgement, excellent contributor skills and a hands-on approach to production, with a particular interest in developing their career as a self-shooter.

Alongside their research work, Zayn has built up practical shooting and editing experience. They completed the ScreenSkills Unscripted TV: Step Up to Shooting AP course, training on broadcast-standard cameras including the FX6 and FX9.

They also independently shoot, script and direct Gardeners’ World Viewers’ Garden films using an iPhone 17 Pro Max and gimbal, taking stories from initial research through to filming and the final edit. Zayn also works on social content for Gardeners’ World, shooting and editing short-form content in Adobe Premiere. They are keen to continue combining their strengths as a researcher with their growing camera and edit skills, with the long-term goal of working as a confident self-shooting researcher across factual, documentary and unscripted television.
