I have over twenty years of experience as a television producer and director, working predominantly on specialist factual programmes. I wrote, produced and directed The Search for the Lost Manuscript: Julian of Norwich for BBC4 Winner of the 2017 Royal Television Society East Award for Best Factual Programme. Most recently I produced and directed two episodes of Australia with Julia Bradbury for ITV1 (2019) and produced and directed all six episodes of South Africa with Gregg Wallace for ITV1 (2021). I have worked as Edit Producer on three seasons of the observational documentary series Dr Jeff Rocky Mountain Vet (Animal Planet 2018 – 2020) making 5 x I hour shows with Doubleact Productions. My credits as Series Producer include Wild Australia with Ray Mears, a wild life travelogue series, and Safari Vet School, an observational series following trainee vets in South Africa, both for ITV 1. I was Series Producer of the Award winning series Animal Precinct made for Animal Planet USA by ITV Studios, making 35 hours of observational documentary following the work of the New York ASPCA; highlights included the man with 135 dead cats in his freezer. Other credits for Animal Planet USA include K9 Cops, an observational series filmed with the St Paul’s Police Canine Unit, and Animal Cops San Francisco also filmed with the ASPCA. For C4 I was Series Producer on Jimmy’s Australian Food Adventure – a history/travelogue of Australian Food filmed with Jimmy Docherty Edit Producer credits include Dr Jeff, observational series for Animal Planet USA, Military Driving School, an observational series following the trainees at the Leconfield Defence School of Transport for ITV 1, Extreme Makeover for C5, How to Look Good Naked for C4. I enjoy constructing compelling narratives out of real life experiences, emphasising the jeopardy, heart ache and joy. I have a genuine interest in people, wanting to tell their stories with dignity and compassion. I am a skilled writer able to simplify complex issues and create the killer sentence that nails a scene without detracting from the footage. The opportunity to discover other cultures and landscapes and to convert these into compelling programmes has been one of the highlights of my career. Read Less
