Development experience: 
I have worked across genres in Development for the previous two years in Factual, Factual-Entertainment, Docs, Reality, and Quiz + Game. Development teams I have worked with are: BBC Studios, Flicker Productions, DSP Productions, Youngest Media, and Potato. Whilst working with these teams I helped develop the following commissioned shows: The Big Steam Adventure, Designing The Hebrides, Interior Design Masters, Kathy Burke: Growing Up, Katie Piper's Jailhouse Mums, Celebrity Moneybags, and The Finish Line. My experience within these teams has honed my skills in conducting in-depth research, creating eye-catching pitch decks on Photoshop and PowerPoint, cutting engaging sizzle reels on Adobe Suite, scouting and interviewing contributors, helping out on shoots, archive research, treatment and biog writing. All of my development experience to date has involved brainstorming and pitching top-line ideas, working closely with producers to develop concepts that align with the requirements of key buyers, including platforms like Netflix, Discovery, and Disney +, as well as major UK broadcasters.

Scripted bio: 
Niamh Farrelly is a writer/director whose work has been screened, nominated for and won awards at worldwide festivals such as the Royal Television Society, Iris Prize, Encounters, Ramsgate Film & TV Festival, New Renaissance, Out Web Fest, and more. After graduating from Bournemouth Film School in 2016, Niamh was awarded Random Acts funding to make a short that was featured on Channel 4’s website. In 2019 Niamh was awarded a place on the esteemed FAMU International Directing MA, but was unable to go due to financial reasons. Instead, she was headhunted and offered a scholarship for the Directing and Producing for Television Entertainment MA, which she has now graduated from.

Niamh is signed to A Rush of Laughter Comedy Management as a Writer/Director. Her work discusses controversial topics through the lens of comedy and the absurd, and explores gender and sexual politics, queer identity, the female experience, and other underrepresented voices. Niamh has been invited to pitch work to Boffola Productions , DLT Entertainment, Why Now Productions, Tiger Aspect, Motiv Productions, Mothership TV, and esteemed director Jonathan Glazer. She has had six months of development with Boffola Productions, and has had work pitched to Channel 4 by Motiv Productions.

Alongside writing and directing, Niamh works in development teams as a Development Researcher. Niamh's skills include creating bespoke visual pitch decks on Photoshop, Canva, and Powerpoint, editing sizzles on Premiere, Final Cut, and Avid, taking part in brainstorms and pitching top-line ideas, and supporting on commissioning pitches and run-throughs.
