I am an experienced BAFTA-winning programme maker with a proven track record in steering new and prime-time factual series for
Apple TV+,
Disney+,
BBC (One, Two and Three),
Channel 4 and
ITV1 that are entertaining, critically-acclaimed and win exceptional ratings.
I enjoy observational documentary with very human stories at its heart; retrospective story telling requiring highly crafted narrative arcs; and specialist factual that draws on forensic detail to shape intelligent and compelling narratives – bringing a warm and and highly watchable approach to even the toughest of subjects.
I have been key to establishing two of BBC’s flagship series from inception -
BBC One’s Ambulance which remains one of the highest-rating documentary series on television (now in its 16th series), and
BBC Two’s Surgeons: At the Edge of Life, one of their most consistently high-rating Specialist Factual series including amongst younger viewers (now in its 8th series).
More recently I have been at the helm of
BBC Three/BBC Wales’ ratings smash box-set series
Paranormal: The Girl, the Ghost and the Gravestone (now in its third series), and have just finished leading the edit on new 8-part fact ent/obs doc hybrid for
Apple TV+, Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars (TX October 2025). Always ambitious for the production, I prioritise good front-end producing and a distinct visual style that enhances narrative, including the use of graphics to drive the editorial. I am experienced in managing large teams and believe firmly that a happy and well-supported team produces the very best results on screen.
I bring calm and strong leadership and editorial clarity, am good at finding solutions to problems (in both production and the edit) and encourage training and feedback to improve results within the production as well as helping people up the career ladder.
I’m used to establishing complex filming protocols and access agreements, and handling challenging legal and compliance issues (including crime, vulnerable contributors and commercial sensitivities) without compromising storytelling. Above all, I am passionate about making excellent factual programmes with heart that are thought-provoking, entertaining and funny.
