I have spent the last eight months working as a Driver/Trainee at ProCam Take 2 and am looking to start working as a Camera Trainee in scripted projects.
At PT2 I have had the opportunity to learn a huge amount of camera, video, lighting grip and audio equipment and go out on set as a trainee to see how it is used on location. Before working at a rental house, I spent a year freelancing in Unscripted TV as a runner and junior researcher. In the latter role I also acted as the 2nd camera operator and caught the camera bug.
Outside of the industry, I have worked the Wimbledon Tennis season since 2017, starting as a Food Service Assistant and working my way up to Manager of the busiest bar on site in 2021. This has given me a deep understanding of how the event runs and greater responsibility and skills, which translate to the responsibilities and skills needed as an AD. As manager, I need to be aware of where my staff and my area managers are at any given time, create rotas, communicate issues and changes between upper management and my staff, deal with paperwork, and solve any problems as they arise.
I would love any opportunity to learn more and help me achieve my ultimate goal of becoming a camera operator.
