Poppi Knight is a Spanish-born, UK-raised freelance producer and AD with experience across narrative and factual productions.

With a background in History and English Literature (Queen Mary University of London, 2014-2017), she went on to train in documentary filmmaking in Barcelona with award-winning production company OTOXO Productions. Keen to broaden her academic capabilities and critical thinking, Poppi later completed an MA in International Studies on Media, Power and Difference (Pompeu Fabra University, 2020-2021), where she studied global conflicts, ethics, human rights, and environmental justice. Her goal is to create a body of work that brings thought and action towards under-discussed themes and topics.

Poppi has produced short films and a podcast and is currently producing her first feature documentary. Her most recent short, ‘The Birth of a Mall Goth’ (dir. Samantha Locock), had its world premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival and has been selected to screen at BAFTA, BIFA and Oscar-qualifying festivals.

Poppi also has experience in feature films and HETV, both as an assistant director and as a producer's assistant, with recent credits including ‘The Night Manager Season 2’ (dir. Georgi Banks-Davies) and ‘The End of It’ (dir. Maria Martinez Bayona). In unscripted TV, Poppi has researched history documentaries, such as ‘Bettany Hughes’ Treasures of the World’ (C4) and ‘Defending Europe’ (National Geographic), and worked as an assistant producer on Channel 4’s ‘A Place in the Sun’, where she set up shoots across Spain and Malta.

Based in Barcelona, Poppi can take on remote jobs and is happy to travel where needed. She is fluent in English, speaks intermediate Spanish and basic Catalan. Read Less
