Although my roles were predominantly based in the hair and makeup department, an understanding of other roles within the industry had been noted after helping in various departments particularly on smaller projects. Having worked on live shows and programs with companies such as the Welsh National Opera, Tinopolis TV company along with Urban Myths Films’ series two of 'War of the Worlds', it is clear that I have a great passion for the industry and am willing to start at the bottom if it enables me to advance in my career. This has also been highlighted having occasionally been invited to work with the BBC as a daily additional runner for Casualty.Due to COVID I have not had the best of luck getting started into the industry but however it has not deterred me from pursuing my dream in working in television. Although I have learned much through studying a university course, I believe in reality you discover more from taking on first hand experience in which I feel having the opportunity to be involved in this role will enable me to further my progression. I am known to be an outgoing and bubbly individual who thrives under pressure and shows strong verbal and written communication skills. I also engage confidently with other team / crew members- asking questions if I am ever unsure of certain tasks and also show flexibility and professionalism in working in fast paced environments. In addition to this, I hold a clean driving license in which I believe is a strong bonus when working in tv especially on location where some filming taking place is more difficult to access via public transport. As noted by the BBC when being employed as an occasional daily runner, I am relied upon frequently during filming by many crew members who have previously mentioned I am easy to get on with. In the last year I have spent much of my free time contacting companies for work but I have faced many rejections from employers. However this has only given me more motivation to want to become a successful television crew member.
