Read MoreI am seeking employment as a freelance developmental consultant in the documentary sector.I am currently a part-time senior lecturer and researcher in film, TV and media studies at Kingston University in London where I have worked since 2005. However, my position is becoming more and more precarious due to department cuts and decreasing student recruitment, therefore, I am exploring employment possibilities in the TV/film production industry where I consider my skill sets to be relevant and transferable. My research, critical thinking and writing skills are of a very high standard and my attention to detail is impeccable. I have a proven track record of investigating and developing an idea/project from inception to dissemination──evidence of this is studying for, and been awarded a PhD, and I have written and designed lecture material on many film, TV and media related courses over the years. I have a particular interest in youth in film, the wider media and society──my doctoral studies concerned 1980s Hollywood teen cinema. I am also an author having two book chapters published this year. (Please see attached CV for further details of my teaching and all my research outputs.) I believe these skills along with others that I have acquired in the workplace such as problem solving, teamwork, communication, IT and administration competences can be applied to developing and completing ideas and topics relating to the documentary genre.Other specialist interests (that I often integrate with my teaching and research) include history, politics (especially US foreign policy), current affairs, psychology and the so-called culture wars; and if tasked, I would be confident in researching any subject. Furthermore, I am able to work from home if necessary. Thanks,
Dr Patrick O’Neill, PhD, FHEA
