I have an enduring passion for history, culture, the arts, politics and current affairs and how are these topics are presented on screen. In 2022, I pitched, co-produced, directed (on location) and shot a short documentary about the history of Brčko in Bosnia, a small city with a unique story, sponsored by the EU Youth Solidarity Fund and the NGO ASFAR, which is currently in post-production. I have also worked as a runner/researcher on the short-film 'Unwrapped' directed by Eva Gauley (2021) and as a story researcher on the music video 'Sunrise State (of Mind)' by Abraxas, directed by Horacio Bolz & Edward Heredia, and understand what is required on set.
Finally I have recent experience in the music industry, producing, researching, writing and editing copy for album releases for the label Foam on a Wave, which I co-founded with Will Bradbury in 2020. To date, I have written and published interviews with electronic music duo Ultramarine (UK) and multi-instrumentalist János Másik (Hungary), as well commissioned writer and ambient composer David Toop to write a piece accompanying his own 2022 release on the label.
I also have wide experience of international historical research, particularly archival, audio-visual and pictorial research, culminating in 2019 in a prize-winning masters thesis on African History from Oxford University during my masters in Global & Imperial History at Somerville College. Prior to this, I took a first in History from Warwick University with a year abroad in Australia and a scholarship to study history in Hong Kong. This led me to teach history on the Teach First Development Programme for two years at a North London secondary school, where I honed my ability to engage young people across the key stages.
My time as a teacher also equipped me with extremely strong professional skills in communication, administration, time management, organisation and stakeholder management and aside from teaching KS3-KS5 including A-Level, I have worked particularly in curriculum development, topic planning and closing the attainment gap (tutoring, Oxbridge outreach, etc.).
I'm now looking to move on a more permanent basis into TV, particularly in the area of factual, specialist factual, and factual-entertainment.
If you're looking for an extremely competent and professional researcher, who is both detail-oriented and has an excellent grasp of the wider story and is able to deliver tasks in time sensitive environment, then please get in touch.
