Read MoreI would very much like to offer my extensive experience from work at the BBC, Natural History Museum, Nature Conservancy and Environmental Protection Agency. This could be as a consultant, freelancer or within a producer/writer/project manager role.I have over 30 years’ experience of writing & producing films and e -learning as well as running campaign and museum projects with budgets up to £120M. This includes 10 years as in-house BBC producer (writing, researching, building and managing the world’s top e-learning resources). Other work includes producing multi award-winning wildlife/environmental films and heading up PR and campaign projects. I am currently Director of a consultancy specialising in reducing IT carbon footprint.I hold a PhD in ‘Effects of daylength and environmental issues on the reproductive cycle of starlings’. The tiger conservation project I headed up involved raising awareness of the state of wild tigers, managing staff, fund-raising, PR/marketing and devising /organising celebrity events. My forte is managing staff and internal and external stakeholders in very complex, hierarchical organisations. All my projects have been delivered on time and within budget. Throughout my career I have communicated very complex, sensitive and political subjects. At the BBC, I produced world-leading programmes and managed stakeholders from every division (sometime up to 25 stakeholders on a single project). At the Natural History Museum (NHM) I devised and developed the David Attenborough Studio. I also coordinated the interpretation and build of the Darwin Centre (NHM’s biggest and most political project to date).
My budgets at the BBC have ranged from £25K to £120K. NHM’s budget for the Darwin Centre (which I coordinated) was £120 million.I am also a multi-award-winning writer/producer of online and TV programmes on environmental/sustainability issues. These include environmental/conservation films (whilst working at Impact Video Productions in the USA) produced for the Environmental Protection Agency, Nature Conservancy, and International Crane Foundation as well as online sustainability programmes for the BBC.Wildlife has been a burning passion from a very early age and daily, for the last 2 years, I have used lock-down to study bird ecology, identification and sounds.
