I was lucky to have Ashton work with me on a kids live action and animated dance series for Nickelodeon. I was the series producer and we had significant pressure on us throughout the production. Her role as associate producer changed on a daily basis throughout pre production and production and she took it all in her stride. She was such a lifesaver, finding creative solutions to every issue that arose. Ashton is such a bright spark with a really positive attitude. I loved working with her and hope to again.
Ashton was an absolute delight to work with. Ashton was employed as one of our Date Producers, she elevated the creative with her ideas, stepped up to the plate on set and was an overall joy to be with.
I'd happily work with Ashton time and time again.
In late 2016 Ashton was offered a research/ director trainee position at Attitude Pictures, where she was thrown into the deep end, directing her first broadcast documentary at just 22. Since then, she has gone on to direct over 40 broadcast documentaries (from episodic to topical), web-mini-series, branded content and even a feature documentary.
Ashton's hallmark is that she cares deeply about the product and the talent simultaneously, managing to deliver a tangible product to the network that is digestible and resonates with the audience to keep them engaged, while also doing justice to the talent's story.
The Attitude series tells stories about people who live with disabilities. Ashton has the ability to tread the line of telling someone's story with detail that bares their vulnerabilities and allows the audience to gain true insight into that person's life, while doing it with such empathy that the talent comes away from the experience feeling empowered and proud of their story that's been told and shared.
Her work ethic also shines through; she's earned a reputation of consistently being able to deliver. She has come to be someone who can be relied on to tell difficult and complex stories well, and do it within the parameters of the limited budget and resources we work with where every story has to be shot in 4-5 days of filming.
