Matias Basso has a 25-year trajectory writing and producing film and TV formats, as well as corporate and institutional commercials, having worked with the BBC, Channel 4, City of London, PBS, Al Jazeera, NRK (Norway), Arte (Germany) and Antena 3 (Spain). His productions have taken him to shoot in locations in Albania, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey and all over Europe. Matias has a keen interest in socially relevant and visually engaging stories, as well as a strong capacity to take a wide variety of projects from first idea to finish line. He is known for cultivating team spirit, has a long track record of successful collaborations and he is particular about quality and innovation. The first film he directed, ‘Careless’, won a BBC Talent Award among other distinctions. He was later a resident writer on ‘Paco's Men’, a smash hit prime time drama series on Spanish network Antena 3. Four of his feature documentaries are available on Amazon Prime, he has just produced the documentary Iconic Albums: Shine, about the singer/rapper Estelle for BET (Black Entertainment TV), he has completed a commercial for the British fragrance brand Sunnamusk and he’s developing a drama series with Canadian production company Media Biz International.
