I'm an experienced shooting Series Director, Director of Photography and PD, specialising in observational documentaries and one-off factual films, often involving editorially complex subject matter.
I've worked as a senior camera journalist/PD at the BBC for 20 years - producing and editing current affairs films, as well as make prime time obs-docs, sometimes entirely alone. In addition, I was a team-leader on the BAFTA award-winning Victoria Derbyshire programme.
My work often focuses on issues facing under-served and overlooked communities across the world and I have extensive experience filming in high-pressure and editorially challenging locations - from hostile environments, to hospitals, to schools, to being on the road and in the air with emergency services. I have led teams through many challenging compliance-heavy documentary projects, as well as developing the visual style for new series formats.
