I have over 20 years’ experience working on programmes for BBC, ITV, Channel 4, HBO and PBS. It’s hard to pick a high point – interviewing Martin Scorsese in his edit suite was one! So was interviewing Brad Pitt and taking trains around Japan with Fergal Keane for Great Railway Journeys and shooting in Iran, Israel and China to name but a few. I helped storyline and was field producer on a 90-minute feature documentary entitled ‘Sergio’ for HBO and BBC Storyville that won awards at Sundance Film Festival, and was shortlisted for an Academy Award and made into a 2020 Netflix feature film. I have also worked on a broad range of current affairs (including investigative) historical, and political films shot all over the globe.For the past 9 years I was Global Head of Media and Communications for a non-profit. My media strategy led to a 238% increase in engagement and 833% increase in followers on social media platforms. In 2019-2020 watch-time on Facebook was up 236% with 11.1 million views of more than 1 minute, and views on YouTube were up 62% totalling 15.3 million views.I went to live in China from 1999 – 2005 and was a producer on ‘The Age of Aids’ (Channel 4/WGBH Boston), winner of the DuPont Columbia Award and Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, and ‘Commanding Heights: The Battle for the World Economy’ winner of three Emmy nominations.
