I have worked with Neil Allan many times as he is exactly the right sort of person to have on a team. He has worked on a number of productions and also in Development, in a number of roles (runner, researcher, AP). As he has moved into each different role he has always been very strong and delivered. When working in Development he immersed himself with the output of the channel and was therefore very knowledgeable about different genres of programming, making him a great addition to development. He was very involved in us winning a large commission and helping format the first series, by working as an AP on the pilot episode. Recently he has been directing short insert VT’s, and his scripts were imaginative and thought through, and he was organised and creative in the edit. He is thorough, efficient, creative, a good laugh, easy to get along with, great with contributors, honest, trustworthy, a hard worker, passionate, enthusiastic, has initiative and common sense, but isn’t too proud to say when unsure about anything. He has also been involved with meetings with commissioners, and managed to gauge meetings well, and offer the right information when needed. I hate having to give him such a glowing testimonial, in case someone else snaps him up!
