Hi, I’m Katie, an experienced filmmaker based in North Yorkshire, with 15+ years of directing, producing and editing short docs and branded content through my production company This Film. I’m now taking the next step in my career and transitioning into the world of TV and film, with a particular focus on the Assistant Director department.
Over the years, I’ve developed a solid set of transferable skills: managing contributors and crews, handling complex schedules, problem-solving on the fly, and keeping productions moving with calm focus and good humour. I’ve worked across a range of sectors, including corporate, charity and community-based projects, often juggling multiple roles and responsibilities while ensuring a smooth and efficient shoot.
What draws me to the AD department is the energy of life on set, and the chance to contribute to a team from the heart of the action. I’m highly organised, people-focused, and thrive under pressure - whether it’s keeping things on track behind the scenes or adapting quickly when plans shift. I’m eager to learn, happy to muck in wherever needed, and excited to develop professionally on set.
