Experienced in conducting complex interviews with contributors across the UK, US and internationally. A positive, enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a flexible approach.I have strong expertise across every stage of the storytelling process; from initial research, to pitching, to development, access with vulnerable contributors, constructing the narrative, scripting, creating the visual language, directing talent, directing drama reconstructions, edit scripting, edit producing and final legal and compliance for delivery.Throughout 13 years in making documentaries and creating new formats for television and online, I have produced, directed and shot internationally, making films about: crime, young offenders, drug cartels, the opioid crisis, prison riots, underground music cultures, mental health, professional gaming, sex industries, ancient rituals, wild animal owners, space tourism, shot the Emmy-nominated series, Gaycation with Elliot Page on LGBTQ+ rights around the world and the theatrically released feature Chemsex.More recently, I filmed, produced, directed, edit produced and scored a feature-length true crime documentary for Channel 5 / Paramount + on the largest armed manhunt in British policing history to capture Barry Prudom - Manhunt: The Phantom Cop Killer. Towards the end of last year I produced, directed, shot and edit produced a feature biopic on Michael Barrymore which blended the celebrity biopic and true crime genres - gaining access with the family of Stuart Lubbock who tragically died at Barrymore’s home. Both of these productions drew on engaging, candid and stylishly shot interviews with first hand contributors, never before seen archive and cinematic drama reconstructions to bring these compelling stories to life. This year, I directed a two-part docuseries with Future Studios for Amazon Prime on the disappearance of Lucie Blackman in Japan in 2000, which featured journalist and author of Tokyo Vice, Jake Adelstein. I also produced, directed, edit produced and scored a true crime / true horror feature documentary on Mick & Mairead Philpott with ITN Productions for C5 & Paramount +.My wealth of experience means I have a good understanding of both observational and retrospective storytelling. I understand all the roles within a crew, keeping abreast of all the moving parts, successfully nurturing creativity, development and leading a team in delivering films and series formats we are all truly proud of.
