Working as their Office Manager, PA to the CEO and CMO, along with being Front of House; I implemented the company culture, organising staff Summer and Christmas parties, monthly staff events, along with continuing the running of the weekly Newsletter and Comms meeting.Since being made redundant in September, I have taken a job at the construction company McLaren. However, I am eager to get back into a creative environment as I believe this is where I am best suited.
I am personable and enjoy a varied role. I am used to managing other members of staff, inputting new systems and making sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable in their work environment.
As well as all my general office management tasks and anything ad hoc that comes my way; last year my greatest achievement within the company was having 2 days to organise and coordinate an event for Hollywood actor Will Ferrell. He was in London filming Eurovision and wanted to watch the LA Derby with other football fans. The game was at 3.30am on a Bank Holiday Monday. I threw myself into this project and executed it with absolute professionalism and aplomb – even arranging for a local gastropub to open up early so that we could take Mr Ferrell for a post-match breakfast at 6am.
I have over 8 years’ experience of extensive diary management, along with arranging taxis, global travel and hotels for both clients and senior members of staff. I am proactive and extremely organised; always finding the most efficient way of getting the job done. I have a polite and confident telephone manner, along with strong written skills and a professional appearance. Understanding the importance of prioritising has been key in my administration roles, and I therefore take pride in making sure my duties are carried out in the most effective order.
I thrive in a creative environment with like-minded people; where my enthusiasm and personality can be a benefit to each and every task.
At COPA90, along with previous PA positions I have had, I have always been in possession of confidential information - both verbal and written. I treat this with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
I have a natural ability to build relationships with people and also the capacity to maintain them. This is partly due to the fact that establishing rapport with people is something that I am passionate about. This is shown in my last 3 years at COPA90 where I built and maintained a relationship with all COPA90 supplier contacts.
For the last 3 and a half years, I have taken charge of all office expenses, including those of our CEO and CMO. I have worked on all office events; keeping to a tight budget - and I know the importance of planning in order to find the best solution. I have overseen each event from beginning to end; making sure they are executed without a hitch.
I have experience working across all multiple departments, knowing, more than most, the importance of clear communication across the board. I have also proved myself as someone who is more than happy to work outside of contracted hours. I am used to a fast-paced and pressurised environment, always maintaining an unflappable and enthusiastic attitude.
Understanding the importance of prioritising has been key in my previous roles, and I therefore take pride in making sure my duties are carried out in the most effective order.
Whilst at COPA90 I was entrusted by our CEO to help entertain clients when he was unavailable. Another example of the level of trust the company had in me to uphold the company values and give the best impression of COPA90. Alongside these extra tasks, my role at COPA90 meant that I was the first impression clients/suppliers/guests saw of the business – a position I upheld throughout my time at the company.
I am used to fast-paced roles, where I am constantly on my feet. I am always happy to muck in and help where required. This is a quality I have had since I was a child, growing up in the world of racehorse training – where helping my parents in the yard and office meant that I quickly learnt the importance of good management and how to conduct oneself in the workplace.
