When mounting pressure puts your production and reputation on the line, you need someone who thrives on making the impossible possible. As a calm, low-risk Location Manager and Scout, I seamlessly manage complex productions. I have a proven ability to work effectively within any budget, giving producers confidence that all scouting and logistics will be executed to the highest standard.
PREVIOUS EXAMPLES OF PROBLEM SOLVING ON PRODUCTIONS:
Creative Brief Turnaround
I visualise and resolve creative briefs after productions have struggled longer than expected, resulting in schedule and budget impacts. For the feature film ‘X-Men: First Class’, I cracked a long-standing challenge soon after being hired: I found Fort Horsted as the character Cyclops' training range after multiple scouts and months of director rejections and setbacks. This breakthrough inspired the final set design, solving a long-standing problem for the production.
Stakeholder Diplomacy in Landmark Locations.
For the feature film ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’, I oversaw the 'Serpentine Lake Lockdown', in which the Kingsman Taxi drives into the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park at the beginning of the film. Over several months, I coordinated with Royal Parks' management and events teams and led a crew of over 100 to secure and manage a major section of the park, which attracts more than 20,000 daily visitors. I executed the complex, multi-day shoot without incident, protected the public, and kept the operation on track. This project demonstrates my ability to drive large-scale shoots with high visibility and multiple stakeholders, while safeguarding the studio's reputation.
Rapid Solutions Under Time Pressure.
For ITV’s new, yet-to-be-released drama ‘Secret Service’, schedule changes and the actor’s availability meant I needed to find a premium location close to the main 'Finland Forest' set with only three days’ notice. I found and secured a historic site, once owned by the Guinness family, that had never hosted a film crew before. My quick work avoided script rewrites and an unplanned and unbudgeted extra day of filming. Both the director and lead producer said that finding this location was exceptional and exceeded their expectations.
