In my capacity as a journalist, not only do I produce a regular online column for The Times Comment section, I also specialise in pitching, researching and writing history news articles for The Times Home News desk. This specialist subject means I have spend most of my time delving into archives and liaising with museums/historians/libraries/archivists to create fascinating, factually-correct content. I have also produced many other genres of article, from interviews to personal pieces, for various other publications, including The Times 2, The Independent, Middle East Eye, Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine etc. My work for Novel Productions includes creating pitches based on various themes. Not only have I had the chance to write up a final pitch aimed at BBC Radio 4, I've also been able to put forward my own podcast ideas. Research plays a major role in this particular job and I very much enjoy seeking out interesting little nuggets of information to set a podcast – and its pitch – apart from the rest. As an occasional contributor for Times Radio, I have joined other guests to form a panel in which current affairs of the day are discussed and debated. Shows I have been appeared on include The Breakfast Show, Mariella Frostrup, Early Breakfast News Review and Drive Time With Cathy Newman. I was also recently selected as a reserve for BBC Radio Current Affairs' talent pool of researchers.
