I have been a fashion designer and pattern cutter for over 20 years. I have worked in every aspect from high street to high end fashion. I am expanding into the world of costume for film and TV and am currently working as a Costume buyer/ costume assistant designer on a popular UK TV series until February. Pre-Covid I had been running my own company designing and manufacturing my own brand of women’s wear and show collections regularly at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week MBFWSJ, and other catwalk shows. My team and I made bespoke clothing for private clients. I love working in all areas of clothing from contemporary to period, sci-fi and so on. I have a background in art, art history and drama which is evident in my work, and have made and sourced costume for small theatre productions. A photo shoot or runway show requires the same precision, perfection and timing of a garment on a model as an actor on a set. I am so used to this in my work and of course we have to source and create all of the accessories, models, props, themes and choreography and so on. They are similar worlds.
