Specialized in non-scripted content, I oversee filmmaking projects from start to completion. For about ten years, I have been working freelance for production companies in the USA, Uruguay, Mexico, and Ecuador, mainly as a video producer and editor. I started in the advertising production industry and, since 2013, I have been focusing on storytelling. I have worked on shorts and feature documentaries of many genres (wildlife conservation, politics, cultural traditions, science, travel, food, and sports) as well as narrative films (drama and comedy).I like to take the bull by the horns so I have been directing my own projects as well. In 2013, I became the Director of Okurelo, an organization that adapts movies for blind and deaf people in Uruguay. In 2019, I started my first production company in the USA, Proxima Centauri Films, and I directed/produced my first feature documentary “Trumphobia: what both sides fear”, which received a grant from the Rogovy Foundation and the International Documentary Association was the fiscal sponsor. It also received an Impact Docs Award, and it has been screened at many festivals in North America. In 2020, I signed a distribution deal with Unified Pictures in the USA and Kaleidoscope Film Distribution in the UK. Before that, my short documentary “Exit the Shelter” received the Award for Best Film of the LA Television, Script, and Film Festival, and the Award of Excellence from the Hollywood International Independent Documentary Awards.
I have a lot of experience developing projects, presenting ideas, doing research, writing scripts, managing international crew members, producing content, as well as finding ways to distribute and promote it. Moreover, I am a professional editor using Adobe Creative Suite and I know how to use a wide variety of video and sound equipment, from DSLR cameras like Canon to more cinematic ones like RED. I have conducted and shot hundreds of sit-down and man-on-the-street interviews, from presidential candidates like Jill Stein in the USA to homeless people in Argentina. Once, I even went to the house of the Imperial Commander of the KKK in North Carolina to get an interview; I am willing to go anywhere for the truth.I am from Latin America, I have lived in Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, and in the USA (Los Angeles), thus I speak fluently Spanish and English. I have been a producer and line producer of documentaries made in different states of the USA (California, Oregon, Nevada, Florida, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Washington DC), as well as in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Argentina, and Uruguay. And I have been a researcher for a documentary shot in Ecuador and South Africa. In all these places, I have had to quickly coordinate and film interviews, define locations, create budgets, hire a crew, get permits, handle the transportation, lodging and meals, and work with people from different cultures.Since I have received many international scholarships and I have participated in several industry events across the world, I have knowledge, interest, and experience studying, working, and establishing relationships with multiple experts in different fields. Therefore, I have access to a big network of people -including scientists, politicians, community leaders, journalists, celebrities, and influencers- in Ibero-America that I could contribute to my job. I also have my own equipment (BM Camera, Canon lenses, tripods, stabilizer, microphones, and more), and I have easy access to renting bigger equipment at a very cheap price in South America. To know more about me, please visit:
