With a background in anthropology, my drive comes from an interest in people. And I ensure that people feel truly reflected in the documentaries I produce about them and have learnt to successfully negotiate conflicting narratives (e.g. during a film series on social history of a Manchester neighbourhood).

I am a passionate and motivated storyteller who enjoys successfully blending creative devices to produce impactful documentaries, linking self-shot material, interviews, archive footage, and animation. I am open-minded and genuinely interested in the world, having lent my research and production skills to a variety of topics (from Scout Camps to ‘opium eater’ Thomas De Quincey).

The fact I can elicit strong emotional reactions in my audiences is a source of pride, and I push myself to think creatively about the best way to represent research (e.g. for a documentary on death and death doulas, for which I taught myself to animate).
