I am an experienced administrative assistant with nearly three years working in government and academic administration where I am currently in employment at the University of Nottingham. I am now looking to transfer these skills into creatives industries to align with my passions and to work towards a career in Production Management. 

In my current employment, my responsibilities including managing the diaries of academics, arranging Zoom and Teams meeting including setting up IT systems, event management for project dissemination including room booking and arranging catering, and booking travel and accommodation for business travel both within the UK and across Europe. This employment has allowed me to become confident, adaptive, and detail-orientated in professional spaces. 

In the summer of 2022, I was fortunate to intern in Los Angeles at The Walt Disney Company, working within marketing for streaming television. The change of environment and living abroad was certainly a challenge but one I dealt with gladly ensuring I demonstrated a confident and positive attitude while meeting with producers, writers, and executives within the company. 

 

I was formerly a Customer Service Officer for HM Revenue and Customs, for which I constructed documents for the efficient and legal processing of goods into and out of the EU to be presented at the UK border. The tight deadlines alongside the incoming Brexit agreement contributed to shifting priorities for the business and required the efficient creation of professional documentation. Pressures from customers concerned by the changes brought about by Brexit also created a mass influx of calls which I was able to deal with in a friendly but professional and efficient customer service manner. 

 

Having recently graduated with my master’s degree, I have developed my communication skills throughout my academic writing as well as through my professional career. I have received acknowledgement of my achievements through receiving a first-class degree, and a distinction in my final dissertation. 

 

I am excited about the opportunity to learn and grow within this industry and eager to throw myself into the job with full passion and drive to succeed.
