He has been involved in the making of records that have sold over a hundred million copies and his work has been acknowledged with an Ivor Novello Award nomination and multiple platinum records.While still a student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama he started composing music for short films including Vengeance, the supporting film in the UK cinemas for Commando.Soon after his graduation, he moved onto recording & production, and his vast and diverse experience includes long stints with household name production teams as their in-house arranger/musician. With Stock, Aitken and Waterman he worked on most of their hit records including Kylie, Rick Astley, Donna Summer and many more. With Trevor Horn (with whom he also co-produced) his work spanned over many artists’ records most notably Pet Shop Boys, Rod Stewart, Seal, Cher, Tina Turner, Charlotte Church.George’s work with Horn Productions also includes: LeAnn Rimes’ “Can’t Fight the Moonlight”, from the motion picture “Coyote Ugly”; Eddi Reader’s “Nobody Lives Without Love”, from the motion picture “Batman Forever”; Bryan Ferry’s “Dance With Life”, from the motion picture “Phenomenon”.His composing/song-writing skills were recognised early in his career with the completion of his first long-term publishing contract with established publishing powerhouse Perfect Song (Seal, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Gabrielle, The Rocky Horror Show).George’s work as a composer beyond the boundaries of pop/rock music includes the much-acclaimed classical/world-music album “A Handbook for Human Beings” with Swiss cellist Nathalie Manser. The album was produced by George and features the 54-piece Orpharion Orchestra for which he did the full orchestration.Other notable works in George’s career include artists such as Kim Appleby (platinum album, produced and co-written) and Russian multi-million selling artist Valeriya for whom George wrote and produced four tracks. George’s innovative arrangements and production of her cover “Stayin’ Alive” ensured and inspired the participation of Robin Gibb.Other artists that George has worked with include Prefab Sprout, Moa, Barry Manilow, Frances Ruffelle, John Wetton, Kym Mazzelle, 2AM JAM, Jill Jones, Hazel Kaneswaran.Over the last few years, George has also worked on developing and mentoring new up-and-coming artists, guiding them with his production and composition skills and experience.Since 2020 he has returned to his passion for TV and film music.
