Frederick spent most of his adult life working as a broadcast journalist in Alberta where he produced hundreds of TV stories covering everything from Cattle Police to Astronauts. He also hosted 'Reel Time'- an extremely low budget movie review TV show.
As a filmmaker he has produced/directed an eclectic mix of content.
He created 2 seasons of the APTN documentary series ‘Queen of the Oil Patch.’
He directed a documentary about his father's adventures in the arctic called ‘Last of the Fur Traders,' (produced with the help of EAC.)
He has made numerous projects for TELUS Originals, including 3 seasons of ‘Invincible,’ which follow the extreme adventures of a quadruple amputee.
Frederick also has a passion for rescue kittens. His project KittenTV is currently available on Emirates Airlines, Virgin Australia, (and may wind up on TV in China.)
He won 3 Alberta ‘Rosie’ Awards, and in 2015 was one of Edmonton’s Top 40 under 40 for his volunteer video work in Africa.
Frederick is currently involved in a new Edmonton arts collective called ‘Are We Artists or Cops?’ Their inaugural 35mm art film won the Audience Award at the 2019 Gotta Minute Film Festival.
