l began my career at 16 as a house music DJ and live music mixer, recording performances for BBC Radio 1 and working in London’s West End. I went on to train with the BBC Film Department from 1984 to 1988. 

In 1988, I became freelance, initially as a boom operator before building extensive experience in factual and documentary television. Over the next decade I travelled to more than thirty countries, earning two BAFTA nominations for Sound (Factual) in 1995 and 1997. 

Since 2003, I has focused on television drama, feature films, and high-end series. My work includes five seasons of the BBC’s Merlin, as well as Stephen Poliakoff’s Dancing on the Edge, which won the BAFTA for Best Sound (Fiction) in 2014. 

I moved into major feature production in 2015, working with Richard Curtis on About Time, followed by projects such as Everest, Ron Howard’s Inferno, The Mummy, Goodbye Christopher Robin, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread. 

More recently, my credits include musical and performance-driven films such as Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and Judy, which required extensive live vocal recording on set. I have also worked on large-scale action and international productions including Michael Bay’s 6 Underground and Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, The Amateur and Primate

In television, my recent work includes Amazon Prime’s The Rings of Power Seasons 2 and 3. 

With over four decades of experience, I am known for my experience in complex radio mic setups, music playback collaboration, and delivering high-quality production sound across studio-scale features, action productions, and musical performance environments.  Read Less
