Though I have worn many hats in my career... these days I work full time as an offline editor - most recently on a 6 part Netflix series made by Grain Media, and a string of BBC documentaries telling the unfolding stories of the crises in Afghanistan and Ukraine. I edit just as happily on Avid or Premiere, and am able to work remotely or from Central London edit suites.I originally started out as a multimedia journalist at Reuters, spent a number of years as a freelance filmmaker and journalist in Colombia, and have since worked as a producer, edit producer, PD and editor in the UK docs industry.Some recent highlights from the last few years include directing and editing a short documentary about the Colombian peace process for National Geographic, and working on the development, production and edit of James Bluemel's latest series for the BBC: Pandemic 2020. The project saw us casting characters from over 20 countries, producing dozens of complex remote shoots, and sifting through hundreds of hours of material to create an account of the pandemic that was both intimate and epic.I edit on both Premiere Pro and Avid, and have a fully-equipped home edit suite. I also shoot well on FS7, C300 and Amira along with all the usual gadgets (drones, gimbals, DSRLs, GoPros etc). I own an FS5 kit, a gimbal and a wide range of sound and lighting kit.Alongside my work in the UK TV industry, I spent much of 2016-19 in Colombia. Whilst there I co-founded the production company Pestle and Mortar, which makes documentaries and commercials across Latin America and the UK.
