I am a high-achieving graduate with substantial experience of working in the production field as an administrator, production assistant and stage manager. I take pride in the extensive experiences I have gained throughout my education, employment, placements and professional internship. I thrive in a fast-pace working environment and am confident working without constant supervision. I am eager to work in a role that compliments my skills, interests and personality traits and I am searching for a role that involves varied tasks and responsibilities, gives me the opportunity to be creative with my ideas and visions in addition to challenging me. Below I have detailed some highlights of my previous experiences in production. Please note I have been travelling Australia 2018-2020 which is the reason for the gap in my experience - I have worked whilst in Australia but my roles have been unrelated to production.Project and Events assistant:Dance Programme Support Intern - Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance - 2017-2018:My internship at Trinity Laban was an ideal introduction into the professional field of dance and performance. My main responsiblity during this role was designated coordinator for the third-year student’s UK tour. During this role I was responsible for booking venues and transport and organising rehearsal and performance schedules. I also provided production/technical support during the performances, which required me to train in lighting and sound operation. Throughout the rest of my internship I was required to stage manage several performances in the theatre, for both student and professional companies. I was also involved with assisting the production team during the maintenance period, which required a lot of testing and cleaning of all lighting and sound equipment.Intern - Dancing Strong - 2016:I was approached to work as an intern for London-based arts company, Dancing Strong. I accompanied Dancing Strong on their UK tour, providing administrative, publicity and organisational support. My administrative responsibilities included creating schedules and call-sheets to organising the company prior to and during performances. I was solely responsible for pre-show advertising, which involved market research into surrounding areas of performance venues and making contact with potential audience members via telephone and e-mail and promoting the company’s tour using their social media. I was confident in the role and displayed proficient ability to work in an organised manner and prioritise competing demands.Additionally, when working as an intern for Dancing Strong my ICT skills were required for the creation of schedules and call-sheets, I also had the opportunity to apply my basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop in order to create engaging and creative web-content for pre-show advertising on social media.Assistant Stage Manager - DancingStrong 2015-2016:As an assistant stage manager I was responsible for assisting with rigging of lights, installation of set, pre-stage set-up and operation of the sound desk. I was also required to organise members of the company, such as the musicians, dancers and choreographer, during the performance dates to ensure they were keeping to the call-sheet schedule to allow for a smooth running. This experience provided me with the ability to use sound and lighting equipment in the environment of a professional performance, it also required me to be confident in a leadership role.Dance Ambassador - Middlesex University - 2016-2017:As an ambassador for Middlesex I advocated the dance department to prospective students on events such as open and applicant days and summer school. I also provided front of house support for undergraduate performance evenings. Additionally, I supported the dance department at Move It 2016, which required me to talk to prospective students about my experiences of Middlesex University and the BA Dance courses they provide.Ambassador - One Dance UK - 2016-2017:My motivation is demonstrated through my successful application to be a One Dance UK (ODUK) ambassador, September 2016. As an ODUK ambassador I was required to promote the work of ODUK and advertise offers and news through email and leaflet distribution. I was also responsible for encouraging new members of ODUK in order to raise awareness of their services. I acted as a role model and helped raise aspirations of future dance artists to ensure our world-class arts industry is sustained. Working as an ambassador encouraged me to be self-motivated in addition to gaining great personal satisfaction due to my personal contribution to the dance world and interests of others in such a positive way.
