I am highly motivated about pursuing a career in video production; I aim to establish myself as a professional studio engineer with a specification in video editing and colour grading within post-production. My degree has enabled me to develop my experience, giving me a better understanding of visual communication and the design process; my fascination for post-production captivated my interest at this stage. I realised my attributes are tailored more towards video production, as I enjoy the structure of editing and colour grading while experimenting with imagery, sound and importantly storytelling.The passion I have for production intrigued my interest in every aspect, as every component is essential to create a subconscious meaning for the viewers, psychologically and emotionally. I love the challenge of configuring an idea while having the drive to problem solve to communicate and explore a narrative. I am a methodical thinker with the technical knowledge and experience of vision, sound, communication and software relative to a studio environment. I am hardworking and have the enthusiasm and efficiency to work as part of a team, while comfortable operating alone when required.I have previously worked in assistant roles at University, volunteering and supporting art direction, design, editing, camera maintenance and assisting on set productions. I have experience working as a production assistant and copywriter; I was recently self-employed for a BBC Digital production, creating body-positive content for BBC Body Positive social platforms. Alongside, I recently joined an online short course, ‘Inside the edit’, in Craft Editing taught by industry editor Paddy Bird. Contributing to these roles has developed my skills including adaptability, communication, patience, and focus. I have developed as an individual while studying at University. I worked closely with agencies such as Ogilvy, JKR, Collective London and Kessels Kramer. I was allowed to work on live industry briefs, developing ideas, the concept, strategy, visuals, and finally pitching the idea to the company creative directors and senior creatives. I am proficient in Adobe Cloud, Avid Composer, Final Cut Pro X and Microsoft software and have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms. I am eager to develop my knowledge, skills and confidence as I am highly motivated to learn more. An ambition of mine has always been to work in the production industry.
