However, my desire to see the world took hold and I left the bright lights of TV to explore society and culture around the world.5 years later, I returned to the UK and quickly built a successful career in digital media during which I was frequently head-hunted by large companies and agencies. More on that below. In 2012, recognising video was to become the go-to format for media consumption, I returned to my production roots and joined forces with my business partner, and we started Loud Monkey (October 2012) with nothing more than passion, skill, determination and a desire to ‘do good’. Now, nearly 8 years later, Loud Monkey has built a sound, solid and enviable reputation for producing creative online content across multiple sectors, all over the world and has enabled me to move a step closer to my dream. From as long as I can remember, that dream has always been to combine my passion for music (I was raised in a record shop and am a passionate advocate of the underground dance music explosion in the early 90s) with my ability to recognise and develop a story and my desire to ‘do good’. In 2017 I enrolled in film school, produced my first short film, Flush, and set up my passion production company, 91 Productions. 91 leans on its unrivalled access to the music industry to create compelling and creative documentarian based content for TV, film and emerging formats. In November 2018, I joined forces with dance music charity, The ABODE Project, as their producer, and am continually driving opportunity for them with some of the most recognised online distributors and terrestrial broadcasters. The impact of Covid-19 means I need to look outside the parameters of Loud Monkey and 91 from a financial POV. Rather than deter me, that fuels me - our industry is a collaborative one after-all and my passion and my talent is in recognising and developing a story and using my vast knowledge in online content creation and distribution to apply, translate and develop traditional broadcast opportunities to fit today’s multi-media formats. Plant that talent in amongst the right team and we will all thrive, achieve and broadcast in a world demanding quality content now, more than ever.Given my efforts and success in production and development during the last two years, my CV drills into these areas and projects specifically however it’s prudent to also drill into my career in digital media and marketing, as this as an opportunity I'm happy to explore and am hugely experienced and qualified in.Prior to launching my career in online production and development, I had a successful career in digital media spanning many key industry changing years. I started with TMS Group (digital media agency) in 2008 as an account exec and was quickly promoted to Head of Account Team, reporting directly to the board and leading the business and the team from operating at local level car dealers to national level manufacturers. This was a huge driving factor in the company’s multi-million pound acquisition in 2011, through which I lead and supported the account team and under my leadership the team grew from 4 to 20, and from a company size of 25 to over 100, in a short space of time.In 2012, when I started Loud Monkey, this allowed me the time to focus on some of the causes I care about most. For many years I spent Christmases working with Crisis and more recently, two years ago, I was appointed Producer (a volunteer role) with dance music charity The ABODE Project. I’ve now taken 5 video crews to Uganda in the last 14 months, creating endless pieces of quality content, opportunities and increased awareness of the project - now one of the most sought after volunteer trips in charity.I’m a creative collaborator by trade and a nurturer by nature, as well as a confident leader. From 2016-2018, I was a Guest Lecturer in Digital Media at the University of Greenwich, leading two, full year courses and for the four years prior, taught the Digital Marketing Diploma for CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) to various groups of students in London. I believe the learning process works both ways, teach and be taught, always.
