However, it was when I went to college for Creative Media studies that I realised I could pursue film making as a career. So, I worked hard to improve my editing, script writing and production skills, and I got accepted into the University of Bolton's Media, Writing and Production course. While there, I expanded my portfolio with short films and scripts, as well as gaining experience as a runner for Sitcom Soldiers and Red Productions. Due to COVID-19, I decided to undertake my Master’s degree as well, where my projects included researching LGBTQ+ representation in cinema, highlighting the importance of collaborative teamwork, and producing a film of my own.
My skills include knowledge on Microsoft Office and Google Docs, script writing software, such as Celtx, as well as pre-production and production paperwork (call sheets, shooting schedules and risk assessments). I have a lot of experience in bringing a vision to life, from concept to final edit. Whether it's researching into a topic, scouting for locations, actors etc. or bringing it visually to life, I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the production process.
I am a very hard worker, who pulls my weight within a team, learns quickly and is resourceful when faced with difficult challenges. For example, for my current film project, I have managed to find locations and costumes, collaborate with strangers as my crew and even make my own, all while sticking to a shoe-string budget. I also have good communication skills, can think fast on my feet and work well with clients - skills that I have developed further while being a receptionist for Nuffield Health.
