I am a Grierson Doclab 2020 Trainee and a graduate with a 2:1 Bachelor’s (BA Journalism, Media and Culture) from Cardiff University’s School of Journalism. I aim to pursue a career in factual because I am interested in storytelling and great characters that make good TV.Training for the Grierson DocLab scheme includes an introduction to research, interviewing techniques, writing treatments, introductory production skills and editing. Also hearing from established alumni and pitching our documentary ideas to industry professionalsI have completed essential knowledge from ScreenSkills courses, including BECTU's TV Research and Practical Accredited Children's Regulation Training.Through a broadcast training opportunity with the BBC I gained over 100 hours worth of camera operating experience. The footage was used for BBC iPlayer, Hay Festival Archives and live-streaming to schools.I have a background in administration and hospitality. I spent twelve months as an Administrator and Receptionist for Slee Blackwell Solicitors where my duties included greeting clients as first point of contact. Keeping a safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Scanning documents and printing files. Complying with data integrity and security policies. Keeping information confidential. Monitoring stationary levels and ordering office supplies.In my free time I am a freelance artist. Since 2017 I have run a small business selling commissioned artwork and prints. I enjoy filming, reading, writing and creating content.
