I'm a specialist in popular culture and particularly television and pop music. As an author my books included four editions of The Penguin TV Companion, a behind-the-scenes work on Midsomer Murders and Rock & Pop on British TV – the last a detailed history of the genre from the 1950s to the present day. Oh, and I also write about beer. I was editor of the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for eight years and I'm a former Beer Writer of the Year.  I've been contributing to television quizzes since the 1990s, most recently working on Fifteen to One, Impossible and Mastermind (specialist subject sets). On screen I've been a Fifteen to One series finalist and off screen British National Pairs champion in 2016 (with Brian Chesney). Read Less
