I graduated in 2011 at the National Film and Television school in MA Documentary Direction. Previous to that I already worked as a documentary editor. Since then I have been shooting, editing and directing documentaries. I'm mainly focused around documentaries and feel most home in observational storytelling.I won a number of awards - including the Edinburgh Film Festival Trailblazer Award, and also a One World Media Award.As a Director, I made films in the UK and abroad including ‘Miles Apart’ and ‘Balancing A Dream’ for Al Jazeera, both of which are stories about individuals struggling with the effects of change in modern China.As an Editor, I am best known for ‘Edge of Dreaming’ by Amy Hardie and 'DAU.Degeneration' by Ilya Permyakov and Ilya Krzhanovskiy.I work as Director, Editor and PD - on my own films as well as commissions for Al Jazeera Witness, BBC Scotland, Gulbenkian Foundation and many other independent productions.
