I’m a Camera Operator and Researcher focusing on science and natural history, environment and specialist factual. My passion is working on engaging natural history content and using innovative storytelling to reveal new science and behaviours. I am particularly skilled at working with experts to uncover a range of compelling contributor-led stories and accessible natural history characters and love developing these ideas and taking them all the way through the edit (I am advanced in using Adobe Premiere Pro). I’m eager to work on projects that do not shy away from complex science or environmental issues.I have extensive foreign filming experience working with dangerous animals, translators and complex logistics (road-less access, remote/mobile camps) in extreme weather and challenging environments.I am enthusiastic and adventurous, with a very strong drive to identify, manage and complete projects to the highest possible standard. I find it easier than most to adapt to new surroundings without slowing down my fast pace. I am confident that added to my research and practical skills, my extended knowledge in both cinematography and wildlife makes me a key asset to a production team.Having graduated with a First Class Honours in photography at University of the Arts, my final year focus was on wildlife preservation and filmmaking, which cemented my aspirations of having a career in videography and wildlife.My passion for wildlife filmmaking took me to South Africa where I was the lead researcher and director of a film called 'Through the Eyes of a Ranger'. We documented the struggles that rangers are now facing with the worsening poaching crisis. However, they have introduced anti-poaching canines, which help take a ranger from a 3-5% success rate to a 60-80% success rate of catching the poacher. I came up with the idea for the documentary, did the extensive background research and then found and worked with a team of three others on the vision and message behind it. In the role of the director, I have grown and maintained a network of new contacts within many conservation organisations.I have had practical experience in the field, which makes me confident in the position as a researcher and camera operator.
