Read MoreI have a great interest in film and media, however, during Covid times and graduated during lockdown, it was hard for me to develop those skills I have learnt from university. However, I have worked within film companies with Sister Pictures and Mad-Cat Media, in terms of location set-up, crowd control and using a variety of high-end cameras to film. By doing this it has enabled me to gain a lot of experience within the different film industry fields.
Currently, I am an advertising marketing associate and trying to use some of my skills in this current work environment. I have been fortunate because my role is flexible and therefore I do use some of the skills which I have obtained at university whether it is filming or editing such as using editing software like Adobe After Effects and Premier Pro. Marketing skills such as campaigning, advertising, selling and social media promotion.
Therefore, I have been able to transport some of these skills and knowledge into my current work, whether it has been designing a website/improving it, using Google SEO/Facebook for advertising or even when filming and editing training videos to explain and show our different course structures to clients. Also, it has allowed me to develop new teaching skills such as planning, preparing and presenting lessons in educating adults on how to get their transport license.
However, the greatest skill I have learnt through my career to date has been people skills. Examples such as dealing with the public, how to deal with objections in polite ways, and understanding and communicating with people from different countries to make people understand. Therefore for me, life is all about learning knowledge and learning new skills. Astute development professional with extensive experience in commercial platform design and development. Adept in varied testing and analysis strategies for improved end products. Expertise in coding and iterative design processes.
