I've been developing a television production career by working as a Production Office Runner on the BBC Religious and Moral debate live outside broadcast "The Big Questions and as a Researcher with Objective Scotland on the magic clip show series “Now You See It”.

It was a position where I learned about sourcing video archive materials licenced by the production company and sent in by members of the public.
After I viewed this material I was tasked to place the information on the clips being used into an Excel database which the producers would use to form the series narrative structure of eight episodes.

In August 2020 I worked assisting the Producer/Director with the filming of a segment for the current series of Crimewatch Roadshow for BBC Cardiff which lead to a Production Runner on the BBC Scotland Live OB series Debate Night in 2021.

My duties for this job would be carrying camera/sound equipment and all of the accessories, handling paperwork,following Covid set procedures alongside working on location in challenging rural environment in South West Scotland. I have relevant office experience from my time as an Office Assistant with the charity The Bridge Dumfries and Galloway which taught me about the day to day running of a professional office space.

In my time with this organisation I would greet members of the public, handling sensitive information, answer phones, handling petty cash, housekeeping, ordering office supplies, hosting clients, set up meeting rooms and handle Microsoft Office packages.

In my spare time over the last 8years I've been expressing my passion for film by contributing to the websites Snakebite Horror, Diabolique magazine, Vulture Hound and mostly recently The After Movie Diner. In my time with these sites I gained invaluable experience about in depth research of subject matters, working with word press, self generating of content, proofreading and phone interviewing techniques.

I've completed several BECTU accredited courses to enhance my CV that dealt with working as a production assistant in Film/TV production networking online with media professionals using LinkedIn. During the lockdowns, I updated my industry knowledge with online courses & industry webinars ran by Bafta Scotland, Scottish Documentary Institute, Screenskills and Bectu who I recently completed an online Covid marshalling course with this organisation doing all the above has given me a renewed confidence that I have a lot to offer an employer.
