Read MoreI'm an Independent Welfare Consultant for film and TV, and a fully qualified, UKCP-registered Integrative Psychotherapist. I specialise in working with trauma, severe mental health presentations, self-harm, suicide, and supporting vulnerable adults; expertise I bring directly into my work in the screen industries.
Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I spent over 25 years working in television production, primarily as a line producer and production manager. I've worked across a broad range of formats, from live events and factual entertainment to observational documentaries, so I understand the fast-paced, high-pressure nature of the industry from the inside out.
Now, I work alongside production teams to assess mental health and welfare risks, advise on welfare protocols, and support participants, staff, and crew, especially when pre-existing mental health conditions or trauma histories may be present. My role is to advise on how to support vulnerable participants or those sharing their stories, rather than to provide a diagnosis. I can help production companies develop robust and compassionate systems of care, from development through to aftercare.
In addition to my consultancy work, I run a private psychotherapy practice and work as a group leader and psychotherapist at a London-based bereavement charity. I also lead the bereavement programme for You Are Loved CIC, where I support individuals impacted by traumatic loss. My clinical work is always trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and grounded in the ethical standards of the UKCP and BACP. I maintain regular supervision with a qualified clinical supervisor to support both my private and industry-facing work.
I'm proud to be part of the Film & TV Welfare Association working group, where I'm committed to raising standards around duty of care and mental health in the industry. My goal is to help productions navigate complex emotional terrain with sensitivity, integrity, and a strong ethical framework.
