I am a shooting-director and qualified journalist with 25 years of experience in current affairs television and radio. Most recently i've been making BBC 1 Countryfile's 15 minute current affairs films. I have experience in the entire filmmaking process from originating ideas, to pitching, researching, producing, shooting, editing and directing presenters and crews. I’m inquisitive, creative, versatile and proactive with an empathetic journalistic style that allows me to quickly gain the trust of contributors. I’m confident directing presenters and crews but also at ease filming myself. I also edit produce, taking my films through a fast-turnaround offline AVID edit. For a decade I lived and worked as a journalist in Asia and Africa - making stories for Reuters, APTN and the UN. I’m also an experienced media trainer and have designed and delivered video journalism and filmmaking training around the world for BBC Media Action including in Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, Algeria and Tunisia.
